Trim the wick 1/4” prior to lighting for a cleaner burn each time. You can use a wick trimmer, scissors or nail clippers.

• If the wick is too long, your candle may burn too hot and too fast, shortening the lifespan of your candle.

Inspect your candle for dirt and debris that may have flown inside your candle vessel.

• Try to remove it, scrape it or wipe it away from wax or jar.

• In the future cover your a candle with the lid or the dust cover once it has completely cooled and resolidified.

The First Burn is the most important, it determines how the candle will burn going forward. You want to achieve a full melt pool with each burn cycle.

Proper Melt Pool:

• Extends from one side of the candle jar to the other, covering the entire surface area of the candle.
  

Benefits of Proper Melt Pool:

• Allows your candle memory and structure to stay intact. It helps prevent tunneling and wick drowning later.
  

Timing Tips:

• It easy to forget and mistakes happen. Try setting an alarm or timer on your phone, iPad, etc for the full burn time, as a reminder to extinguish your candle.
  

While candle tunneling is common, it is also preventable. All of our candles have been tested to ensure this doesn’t happen.

What is Candle Tunneling?

• A hole that forms down the center, leaving solid, unburned wax on the candle perimeter. Your candle may not burn beyond that memory ring once it has been formed.
  

What Happens Next?

• With each candle burn the tunneling will get worse and the hole will get deeper. As the wick burns deeper into the tunnel, the lack of oxygen will cause your candle to extinguish itself.

Will Burn Time Change?

• Lifespan of your candle decreased by a substantial amount.

Burn Time is listed on each individual candle listing and on the Candle Care Card provided in your order. Please do not exceed the recommended burn time.

• 2 oz. Candle: 60 - 90 minutes
• 4 oz. Candle: 2-3 hours
• 6 oz. Candle: 2-3 hours
• 8 oz. Candle: 4 hours
• 14 oz. Candle: 4 hours

Candle Lifespan:

• Lifespan is approximately 1 year before you experience performance issues with your candle. The wax color, scent throw and burn rate may be compromised near, around and after this point.

Long Term Storage:

• Place candles in a cool, dark place out of direct sunlight and your interior home lights. Including but not limited to ceiling lights, wall lights, lamps, etc.

If you burn a candle too long, Carbon will build up on the wick making it unstable.

What happens when your candle burns too long?

• Large flame
• Soot on wick and vessel 
• Produce excess black smoke
• Your candle vessel may overheat

Avoid burning the last half inch of the wax left in your candle vessel. There’s not enough wax left and the heat may compromise the integrity of the vessel.

Burn within sight, never leave unattended and keep away from children, pets and flammable items.

• Do Not burn near open windows, vents, fans, or in drafty areas.

Please handle with care to avoid burning yourself and other surfaces.

• Place on stable, heat resistant surface.

• Do Not Move, Touch, Adjust, etc, while your is lit or in the cool down phase.
